GSIS members told to prioritize loan payments

SAN JOSE, Antique – The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) urged members to give priority to payment of loans.

GSIS-Iloilo Manager Marciana M. Bata gave the advice as she discussed the updates on the agency’s programs and services to the Information Officers from the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras and Negros Occidental during the Information Officers’ Year–End Conference held in Iloilo City recently.

Bata said timely payment of loans will avoid compounded interest and penalties

She also encouraged members to be updated of their contributions, records of loans, service records, statement of account and payment by logging on to GSIS website.

GWAPS machines can be also be utilized in various municipalities to give wider access to members, she said.

During the forum she also discussed the benefits for members who are contemplating to retire including needed requirements for application of retirement.
