BACOLOD City – Four inmates of the Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ) in Barangay Handumanan were released a day before Christmas Day.
MBDJ-Handumanan warden, Jail Senior Inspector Norberto Miciano, said the four were freed for good behavior following an evaluation of their records.
Miciano said they are also set to release four more inmates before the New Year’s Day celebration.
Under Republic Act 10592 (Good Conduct Time Allowance), inmates may be released on good behavior and if they did not break any regulations while undergoing rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, Miciano said the facility is on heightened alert for the rest of the holidays as the inmates’ families are allowed to visit after Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Region 6 director, Jail Senior Supt. Joel Superficial, allowed an “Open Dalaw” for the holidays.
