BACOLOD City – The city government of Bago in Negros Occidental will feature a throwback of all the 80s new wave hits in its annual Lights of Bago, 7 pm, on Jan 1, 2019 at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Sports Complex.
A press statement from the public information office of Bago city said that the night of spectacular colors and wonderful music will feature a medley of the best of 80s new wave greatest hits such as Jump by Van Halen, Every Breath You Take by The Police, and Karma Chameleon by Culture Club.
The event, which is now on its 11th year, is the annual communal fireworks display of Bago in support of the Oplan Iwas Paputok campaign of Department of Health.
The press statement also said that records from the City Health Office show that firecracker injuries dropped significantly by 70% in Bago last year.
Councilor Andrew Martin Torres, chairman of the 11th Lights of Bago, said the annual activity has become a must-see event in the province and continues to draw thousands of spectators every year.
Further, the city is calling all photographers and hobbyists to join the Lights of Bago Photo Contest, which will be held simultaneously during the event.
