Four chefs, one gastronomic experience

FOR the first time in history, four of Iloilo’s best chefs converged for one gastronomic experience like no other at the Runway Kitchen of Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo.

Chef Anthony Bulilan of Tonino’s Restaurant, Chef Chachpol Suiasom of Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, Chef Miguel Cordova of Dova, and Pauline Gorriceta Banusing of Al Dente did not disappoint the food-savvy diners of the Runway Kitchen as they served their respective specialties.

The event which was dubbed as “Coming Together” was inspired by the Christmas concept of the hotel according to director of operation of Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo, Maia Israel.

“We come up with the concept of coming together because of the Christmas concept of the hotel. Coming home for Christmas as we know is always family time and it’s a festive season. We want people to come together.  We want to be accepted and to come together with Iloilo through its famous chefs,” she said.

Israel added that the event was also part of promoting the Marriott’s culture of getting in touch with the local market.

Ms. Cleofe Albiso, general manager of Courtyard by Marriott, emphasized the importance of promoting the talents in Iloilo.

“We can never sell Courtyard without talking about Iloilo City. There is so much about Iloilo that people has to start talking about it and these are the samples,” Albiso said.

According to Albiso, Ilonggos should be proud of what the local community has yet to offer, especially on the culinary aspect.

“We looked upon to such talents, we have so much words to say about food outside but in our local community there is so much food that we should be proud of. Ilonggos should be proud of what we have here,” she said.

Aside from culinary, Albiso assured that Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo will provide more opportunity for local talents to showcase themselves.
